[NEW] Dangerous Treasures – Great event with treasure chests. Treasure chests contain 6 random items of high-quality loot found in supply drops by default. You can also earn 50 RP for opening Treasure chest!!!
[NEW] LastManStanding – LastManStanding event. This is a simple event that is essentially a fight to the death. Once a player dies he/she is kicked from the event. The last player alive wins!
[NEW] Slasher – Slasher event. This is the Rust version of GTA5’s Slasher game mode.
The server, in its current state, has been practically dead for 2 months now. There’s no reasonable way to promote it and, at the same time, this kind of setup simply won’t work for servers that are new and low pop. People join it, play for a while, see that they’re alone and leave.
This is why we decided to kill the original idea and see how something completely different will work out. If this one works, we might resurrect the server in its original form as a separate entity.
So let’s give a big yay for the fucking RustyRock Arcade x10 Edition.
Server config changes
[REMOVED] ZLevelsRemastered – no longer used, we’re switching to static x10.
[REMOVED] LustyMap – as there won’t be custom monuments for a while, custom map plugin is no longer needed – the original map is fine.
[REMOVED] KDRGui – plugin for keeping tracks of player Kill/Death ratio was simply switched with PlayerChallenges & PlayerRanks mods that provides more options.
[REMOVED] FancyDrop – drops return to their default settings.
[REMOVED] DeathNotes – it’s kind of an unimportant chat spam.
[REMOVED] CustomSpawnPoints – no longer used, at the time being we no longer plan to maintain custom monuments.
[REMOVED] CustomLootSpawns – same as CustomSpawnPoints, no longer used.
[NEW] BetterChat.cs – plugin for showing player ranks in chat.
[NEW] FriendlyFire – toggle friendly fire on/off for Friends API. Fucking arcade mode all-along.
[NEW] GatherManager – increases the amount of items gained from gathering resources, everything’s set to x10.
[NEW] HeliControl – manages CH47 & helicopter parameters. We made it more of a pain in the ass but with better rewards: health 10000 -> 25000; main rotor health 750 -> 1000; tail rotor health 375 -> 500; max crates to drop 4 -> 6; helicopter speed 25 -> 28; maximum helicopter life time 15 -> 20; helicopter bullet damage 25 -> 30.
[NEW] HitIcon – UI icon and text of damage amount when you hit player.
[NEW] InstantCraft – instant crafting for everyone.
[NEW] MasterLock – gives players the ability to control all code locks in their base from the tool cupboard.
[NEW] NTeleportation – teleports are back, yay. Personally, I fucking hate them but obviously they are expected from modded servers. We’ll kill this thing first or make it a paid option, so I won’t have to support the server on my own while having to listen to all of your whining over and over again.
[NEW] PlayerChallenges – display player titles in chat, eg. title for best woodchopper. Also, leaderboards for top 10s in each defined category.
[NEW] PlayerRanks – player ranks and stats database
[NEW] MagicLoot – components in containers are now x5, scrap is x6.
[NEW] SkipNightUI – you can now skip night time by voting. All night-fearing pussies need to have 60% of total votes to make it a day again.
[NEW] TimeOfDay – alters day and night duration: day is now 45 real-time minutes, night is 10.
[NEW] Trade – allows players to trade items safely at a distance, like a total socially awkward pussies.
[CHANGED] Clans – max members limit changed from 4 to 8.
This time the official “Puzzle Update” for RUST was delayed by Facepuch – read more about it here.
As for RustyRock, we did full server wipe (map + blueprints). There are no significant changes to mods this month.
[CHANGED] CustomSpawnPoints – restored random fresh spawn points. Previously, players were spawning in Rusty Town church but it didn’t turn out the way we wanted as respawn does not immediately reset peacekeeper turrets hostility.
[REMOVED] NTeleportation – teleports, even in limited amount, drastically change the gameplay, taking away the element of risk and uncertainty. We don’t want that.
Last two months were a really tough period where we barely had any time to work on the server. Considering that the state of the RustyRock at the end of March was not satisfactory, we saw no point in relaunching it as-is.
We spent most of the April fixing things, testing Quality of Life mods and updating ServerInfo panel to provide actual helpful in-game info, especially mods manual.
RUST update was released at the 3rd of May, bringing the new Compound Monument and diving to the game.
RustyRock just wiped – map seed was changed, BluePrints were reset. After some considerations, we also decided to reset ZLevels – probably one final time. The reason is that because of the relaunch delay, several server changes and different approach to promotion, we simply want to start completely fresh and give everyone equal chances.
Here’s a detailed summary of what’s changed!
Server config changes
Reduced spawn chance of scientists near scrap piles from 25% to 15%, reduced their max amount spawned from 50 to 25.
Reduced map size from 4500 to 4000.
Increased slot numbers from 100 to 200.
We’ve added EasyVote plugin integration that allows us to reward players for voting for RustyRock on RUST servers listing websites (currently only rust-servers.net).
Along with the integration, we had to rework plugin access. What it means is that from now on some plugins require you to vote at least once per wipe to become available for you to use. Voting is a quick and simple process that helps us gain popularity – which benefits everyone.
[NEW] EasyVote – a plugin that grants players rewards by voting for our server on RUST servers listing websites.
[NEW] FancyDrop – a plugin to control AirDrops. Cargo plane will now deliver an airdrop every 3 hours.
[NEW] Tipster – replaced old notifications plugin. Tipster does pretty much the same, only better. It also provides additional commands, eg. /pluginlist, that shows all of the important active plugins.
[NEW] WorldShops – a plugin that allows us to create automatically restockable shops in our custom monuments.
[CHANGED] LustyMap – added custom map image, minor fixes to minimap, removed duplicated compass.
[CHANGED] QuickSmelt – charcoal generation set to x1.5 rate (was x2.0), reenabled overcooking (prevention no longer supported by plugin).
[CHANGED] RulesGUI – we completely redesigned welcome screen that presents server rules summary.
[CHANGED] ServerInfo – we completely redesigned server info panel (opened via /info chat command). It now contains the latest news, server description, information about the map and its markers, basic commands and mods manual that consists of descriptions and command lists for all gameplay related mods that we use.
[CHANGED] SpawnControl – junkpiles in water x2, large deciduous forest density x1.5.
We’ve also updated all chat colors to be consistent with each other and with server’s branding.
We’ve added custom LustyMap map markers that from now on will be used to mark locations of custom monuments. At the time being, there are five of them:
Havens are basically small towns or compounds containing facilities and machines useful for players. They may or may not be guarded by turrets or NPCs in peacekeeper mode.
Hostile spots are monuments always guarded by NPCs or turrets and always containing loot spawn points.
Neutral areas are places that may contain loot and may contain NPCS (hostile, peaceful or peacekeepers) but neither of them in significant amount. They are mostly there for decorative and lore-building purposes.
Player built monuments are unguarded places that were built by our players and that were cool enough for us to mark them and protect them from destruction. They will never contain loot spawn points and shall never contain locked doors or locked chests.
Peaceful spots are areas/monuments guarded by indestructible turrets or (killable) NPCs in peacekeeper mode. They might contain useful facilities or machines (eg. recycler). They also might contain some low level loot spawns.
All custom monuments are always enclosed in a protected zone. Entering said zone will trigger a message saying what monument you’re approaching. Similar message is displayed when leaving the monument area.
All zones protecting the monuments enforce the following states: AutoLights, Indesctructible, NoBuild, NoDecay, NoDeploy, NoTP, NoSignUpdates, NoEntityPickup, NoCupboard. Save spots might also contain NoHeliTargeting flag. They should all be pretty self-explanatory.
Custom monuments – first samples
We’ve created two custom monuments along with their surroundings – The Rusty Town and The Rusty Bridge. We’ve also made a third monument out of one of our player’s creation – thanks, DoktorAgon!
Here are a few samples of how they look like – more screenshots will come in separate gallery posts.

Added Server details page with description of server’s vision and list of gameplay related mods.
Added Mods manual page with detailed descriptions and command lists for all of our player-accessible mods.
Added Vote rewards page with information on how to vote for RustyRock on RUST servers listing websites and what rewards you can get by doing just that.
April has been a tough month where we barely had any time to work on the RustyRock. Considering that the state of the server at the end of March was not satisfactory, we saw no point in relaunching it as-is.
Today we are happy to announce that work on the updated server is almost done. Here are some screenshots of what’s to come in terms of just custom monuments:
And of course there’s more – soon to be explained in details along with the wipe.
Because of the delay, several server changes and different approach to promotion, upcoming wipe will reset everything – map, blueprints and ZLevels.
The new game update was issued along with RUST leaving Early Access. As a result, there’s been a forced map and blueprints wipe. Using the opportunity, we’ve made a few changes to the server – we invite you to familiarize yourself with the details!
We’ve made a full server wipe, and along with it, the map seed was changed. Blueprints has been cleared.
Due to recent configuration changes to the ZLevelsRemastered plugin, all players’ levels have been reduced by 50%. Originally, we planned to reduce them by 1/3, but technically it was not an easy thing to do (the plugin allows reduction by division, not allowing division by values containing fractions). We hope this will make the gameplay more balanced and, at the same time, leave players who have worked hard on their skills over the last two weeks, in the expected better position than the newcomers.
Starting from today, we are switching to the monthly full-wipe cycle. Depending on the server population and players’ interest, we allow the possible soft wipes after 2 weeks (just a reset of map), however, we plan other attractions that should be an interesting solution. We’ll keep you updated!
Changes to mods
[FIXED] NoEscape – we fixed the NoEscape plugin that has been malfunctioning recently. After updating it to the newest version, its config file changed completely and so the plugin required a manual permissions setup – a thing we missed. We apologize for the possible confusion caused by it. From now on, the plugin correctly blocks eg. TPs during raids/combat.
[CHANGED] RemoverTool (permissions) – changed and, in fact, fixed. It turned out that after the last update of the plugin, it stopped working properly – it was allowing players to remove what they built even with active building block. Fortunately, the author of the plugin quickly issued a patch that solved the problem. Currently, the plugin works as follows:
if there is no Cupboard, the base’s entities can be removed by the one who placed them,
if there is a Cupboard, the base’s entities can be removed by whoever put them and who is, at the same time, authorized in this particular Cupboard.
[CHANGED] RemoverTool (cost of removing walls) – we introduced the cost of removing stone, metal and HQM construction elements of the bases. From now on, it is set to 500% of their construction value and does not return materials. This change should effectively hinder the acts of completely enclosing players and loot rooms with walls before going offline.
[CHANGED] MagicLoot – we’ve reduced the scrap multiplier of containers from x2 to x1.5. The decision results from the fact that the latest RUST update pumped up the amount of scrap in barrels from 1 to 2 pieces. In practice, this means that before the update, on our server, you were geting 2 pieces of scrap per barrel, and after the update and mod config change you will get 3 pieces. In other containers, the amount of scrap will be increased by 50%, not 100%. We hope this change wil help maintain a balanced gameplay.
[CHANGED] SpawnControl – the new RUST update introduced even more trees than there were originally set on our server. We have increased these values by an additional 50%, thanks to which we still maintain a larger number of forests and green areas compared to the vanilla settings. It does not seem to have any impact on performance of the game whatsoever – which is nice.
Enjoy the game!
New update also intoduced visual changes to the game – it now looks better than ever. ? Below are some screenshots from our server:
